FSA & HSA Eligible

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) can help cover mobility equipment and healthcare costs that you would otherwise need to pay for directly. Funds contributed to FSAs and HSAs are deducted from your salary and are not subject to payroll taxes or federal income tax. The 2023 contribution limit for medical expense FSA accounts is $3,050.

Scootaround carries a number of FSA/HSA eligible products that can be paid for using your FSA or HSA card. For additional information regarding your FSA or HSA account, please reach out to your employer, plan administrator, or health care provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does FSA/HSA work?

You can use your FSA or HSA debit card to make purchases using the funds you’ve set aside. If you do not have an FSA/HSA card, you can instead pay using a standard credit or debit card and then submit the claim to your plan administrator to receive reimbursement.

Q: How do I know if my FSA/HSA plan covers a specific product?

Even though a product may be listed as FSA and HSA eligible in the Scootaround store, it is important to confirm eligibility with your employer or health care provider. Scootaround is happy to provide you with a quote, product details, or any other information that your plan requires. You (or the plan holder) are responsible for submitting any necessary paperwork to your provider.

If you require additional product information to confirm eligibility, please reach out to our Sales Specialists at 1-844-664-7467 or [email protected].

Q: Which Scootaround products are FSA/HSA eligible?

Not all mobility devices and accessories from Scootaround are FSA eligible. You can find a list of eligible products by using the “FSA/HSA Eligible” filter in our online store. You can also look for the “FSA/HSA Eligible” tag on individual products under the “About this product” section.

Q: Are all FSA-eligible products also eligible for HSA?

Yes. Any Scootaround product that can be purchased using an FSA card can also be purchased using an HSA card.

Q: What if the product costs more than the funds in my FSA/HSA account?

Please call Scootaround toll-free at 1-844-664-7467 if the product you wish to purchase costs more than the funds available in your FSA/HSA account. Our sales team can split the payment so that a portion can be covered using your FSA or HSA debit card. The remainder will need to be paid out-of-pocket.

Q: Do my FSA funds expire?

Funds in an FSA account typically need to be used before the end of the plan year, although employers will often offer a grace period of two-and-a-half additional months. Please contact your employer or plan administrator for information about when your funds need to be used by.

Q: What is the difference between FSA and HSA? Which is better?

HSA accounts have higher overall limits than FSA accounts, and any unspent funds roll over at the end of the year. This makes them a better and more flexible option than FSA accounts in most scenarios. However, HSA accounts require you to be enrolled in a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), which may not be ideal for many people.

Q: What is the FSA limit for 2021?

The 2023 contribution limit for FSA accounts is $3,050 (up from $2,850 in 2022).
